WHAT IS THE RELEASE DATE OF THE FIRST IPHONE?

The very first model in a long series was the iPhone 1, also called “iPhone 2G”. It was presented on January 9, 2007 by Steve Jobs at an event organized by Apple. Bringing together 3 products: telephone, iPod, and Internet browser, this first iPhone revolutionized the design of mobile telephony.

It was subsequently marketed on June 29, 2007 in the United States, then in November 2007 in other countries such as France, Austria, Australia, the United Kingdom and Germany.

WHY HAS THE IPHONE 2G BECOME ICONIC IN THE WORLD OF THE MOBILE PHONE INDUSTRY?

At the time, keypad mobile phones were common in the cell phone market. The iPhone was the very first phone without a keyboard, consisting only of a touch screen and a main button, which created a real change in the way of conceiving the use of a mobile phone. The iPhone was then released in the United States on June 29 of the same year and began the evolution of smartphones as we know them today.

WHAT IS THE PRICE OF THE IPHONE 1 AT ITS RELEASE?

When the first iPhone model was released in June 2007, the price at release was $499 for the 4GB iPhone 2G and $599 for the 8GB one. The following year, February 5, 2008 , a 16GB model is priced at $499, which was the original price of the 4GB iPhone 1 model.

Features of the iPhone 2G

SCREEN

The screen of the first iPhone measures 3.5 inches. It comes with a resolution of 320x480 pixels and can display a variety of 16 million colors.

CAMERA

The iPhone 1 doesn't have a front camera, only a 2-megapixel rear camera that has a fixed focus. It is therefore impossible to focus manually.

CHIP

The first smartphone from the American company is equipped with a Samsung ARM11 1176JZ(F)-S chip and a Power-VR MBX Lite 60 MHz graphics processor.

CONNECTIVITY

Equipped with quad-band GSM cellular connectivity, GPRS, and EDGE for data sharing, the iPhone presented in 2007 by Steve Jobs has Internet access via its Safari Web browser. It is also compatible with Bluetooth 2.0 and the Wi-Fi network. In terms of connectivity, the iPhone 1 has a jack socket and a 30-way dock connector.

SENSOR

The first iPhone has proximity, light and accelerometer sensors. This first Apple smartphone does not have a body recognition sensor that would allow facial or digital recognition.

DESIGN

the iPhone 2G has a thin and elegant design for the time. Its touch screen does not cover the entire surface of the phone, but is positioned in the center of the device. The contours of the phone, just like the back of the device, is gray in color, but not only, because the bottom is colored in black, thus tracing a "base" or "foot" visible on the back of the phone.

STORAGE

The storage capacity of this first model can vary between 4, 8 and 16 Gigabytes.

BATTERY

The iPhone 2G contains a battery whose autonomy reaches 250 hours in standby and 08 hours in communication.

ACCESSIBILITY

Accessibility features for people with visual or hearing disabilities did not yet exist at this time. the iPhone 2G therefore had no accessibility features. Accessibility features were not yet developed when the first iPhone was released.

WEIGHTS AND DIMENSIONS

This first smartphone from Apple measures 115 mm in height, 61 mm in width and 11.6 mm in depth, for a weight of 135 grams.

The iPhone 1 is mainly compatible with multimedia accessories. Its jack port allows it to be connected to headphones or headphones with a 3.5 mm jack cable.
