This model was presented as an improvement on its predecessor, the iPhone 3G. the iPhone 3GS, whose letter “S” stands for Speed ​​or Speed ​​in English, is indeed showing better performance. Its screen size has not changed from the iPhone 3G. It measures 3.5 inches for a resolution of 480×320 pixels and can display up to 16 million colors.


Its camera is more powerful than its ancestor. Where the latter had a 2-megapixel camera, the iPhone 3GS has a 3-megapixel camera, capturing more detailed images and videos. Another innovation, the automatic focus or “auto-focus” has enabled users to improve the sharpness of their shots.


The best performance of the iPhone 3GS is due to its chip or SoC. The iPhone 3GS is equipped with an ARM Cortex A8 600Mhz processor as well as a PowerVR SGX535 graphics processor.


This third Apple model can be connected to the 3G+ network, an evolution of the 3G network. Indeed, 3G+ allows faster data exchange than simple 3G (1.9 Mbit/s vs 14.4 Mbit/s). The Bluetooth 2.1 network and Wi-Fi are also accessible by the iPhone 3GS. Then, concerning the connection, the iPhone 3GS has a 30-pin charger port and a jack.

The 3GS model measures 115.5 mm in height, 62.1 mm in width, 12.3 mm in depth and weighs 135 grams.
